PRESENTATION

Founded in November 2000, this course is reserved for physiotherapists that practice MLD.The aim is to transmit a new therapeutic concept targeted towards venous-lymphatic insufficiencies.

The method is performed by specific use of therapist’s fingers.The act used is “separated finger digital pressure”.

Developed by Jean-Pierre Schiltz in 1989, then registered in 1995 by Christian Maréchal, a notary associated with the SCP, 54, avenue Victor Hugo - 75116 Paris. The concept was the subject of a thesis, in 1999, in order to obtain the University Diploma of Lymphatic Pathologies at the CHU in Montpellier.Since 1989 Jean-Pierre Schiltz updated different treatment protocols in relation to different pathologies and limbs or sections of limbs to be treated.

This manual therapy is primarily targeted towards venous-lymphatic pathologies but it is equally applicable to other pathologies of the neuro-muscular system. As the concept is recent, the course is open-minded and open to research.At the end of the course, for both foreign and French physiotherapists, a certificate is given to all trainees enabling them, in relation to the knowledge acquired, to practice the technique, “separated finger digital pressure” for therapeutic or aesthetic purposes. The institute recommends different University Diplomas for those wishing to further develop their interest and research in this new method.
